REFLECTIONS

Many thanks to Jonathan and to you for arranging the tour. It was terrific. The experience of walking through a small part of his art collection was one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had.  He was such a warm person with amazing stories of support and inspiration to and from all the artists.  I'm so appreciative of his valuable time (taking him away from painting) and of course your efforts that allowed our visit to happen.

It was an incredible chance to hear from an icon artist about his life and the importance of the arts. Our culture is preserved in the arts and those who support it. It was fascinating to learn about women from the East Coast who were sought out as wives and who shaped the architecture, museums and culture of the growing new towns (Chicago) they then called home. I imagine they wore hats everywhere. Thank you.

I always admired Jonathan and his work.  But I now have an even greater appreciation of him. He was extremely kind to share his story with us, as well as experiences along the way to when and why he is living here.  How lucky are we to have such a kind, compassionate, generous and talented soul living among us?  I thoroughly enjoyed the background he shared about each piece of art.  It was a rare opportunity to be able to attend yesterday.  I appreciate it.  Thank you!

Such a wonderful grasp on life, so humble and so great at the same time. I love his own art.  What a pleasure to learn valuable artist information from this first hand view.

Thanks again for the opportunity to participate in an exciting adventure! Spending the afternoon with Jonathan Green and The Hat Ladies was a lovely experience!

Thanks again for all you do for us!

Yes indeed, it was a really special event. Hard to choose one remarkable thing about the man; he has such an interesting history. I did love to hear him describe how he came to love Folk Art, from his very humble beginnings when his grandmother gave him boards to paint on. His own work is so beautiful. I had no idea he was such a collector. We are certainly lucky to have him here in Charleston and be so available. I love my Jonathan print!

Thank you for facilitating a marvelous Monday at the Gibbs with Jonathan Green & my hat sisters. It was so nice to be out in a group and to feel a bit normal again.

Jonathan was so open and happy to share his & Richard’s life’s passion. How blessed are we to have forward-looking souls such as these in our little corner of the world!

Merci beaucoup,

I was so glad I was able to join the Hat Ladies for the tour.  I had already seen the Exhibit and have heard Jonathan speak many times, but to have Jonathan speak about this particular collection was special.  Thanks.

What a fabulous event!  Thanks again for arranging such a lovely tour led by the incomparable Jonathan Green!  I have a print of one of his paintings, and I absolutely love it - I got it one year when we volunteered at the CSOL Designer Showhouse. I love his work and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing him speak about his experiences and his connections throughout the art world. Ending the day on a high note!
