CHARLESTON SYMPHONY DESIGNER SHOW HOUSE
Every year from mid March to Mid April, the Symphony holds its largest fundraiser. Prominent designers in the Charleston area decorate rooms of an historic house, then open it to the public. The Hat Ladies are honored to be docents as a group at least one day of this significant Event.
It becomes a day of shopping, eating, taking a chance on winning a car, celebrating a birthday, standing in beautifully decorated rooms with beautifully hatted sisters, helping a great cause, and being appreciated. Who could ask for anything more?
We were expecting to continue this tradition in 2017. But received the following message from the Coordinator: "The arrangements will be quite different this year. We will need only 5 docents per shift. Since the League requires members to work we will have enough volunteers from within the group.
I did want to let you know that that is why I have not been in contact. I also want to thank you so very much for all you and your hat ladies have done to help for many years. Maybe I'll be asking for your help again if this new system is a flop!
Hopefully you and your Ladies will visit the house and stay for lunch. Again, many many thanks."
